"A scallop-like sweetly saline and mineral amalgam takes hold in a vibrant finish that leaves me caught between the urge to linger and the urge to take the next sip. This exceptional value by appellation standards is almost sure to prove worth following for several years, even if, sadly, few wine enthusiasts are likely to put that prediction to the test." -Rated 92/100 Wine Advocate

"The rich, vinous style is beautifully balanced by the coolness and minerality of the year. This is a gorgeous, complete Champagne bursting with personality and sheer class. The wine boasts fabulous depth and remarkable nuance without ever coming across as heavy. To be sure, this is an intense, bold style that needs to be paired with food." -Rated 93/100 Wine Advocate
Starr's is a very unique shop. Once you've been there, you'll definitely go back.
I was on a hunt for Limoncello and Starrs happened to carry it!! We walked in 2 min to closing and the owner did not rush us at all. He helped us find what we need and also gave us a few recommendations. He was a genuinely nice man and seemed to know what he was talking about. I was in an out within a few minutes but those few minutes left a good impression on me. I deduct one star because they do close a 9pm which is kind of early. I also want to add that the owner of Starrs is also the owner of the Smokehouse next door, which just recently opened in Nov. I will also be making a mental note to try that place out and give it a proper yelp review!
I have been searching for specific types of Boulevard beer ever since my trip to KC, and only been able to find a variety pack sold in grocery stores. I came in hoping that they would have a 4 or 6 pack of Tank 7, and they did! They have so many selections of Boulevard - they had the 750 ml single serve and 4 packs of what I wanted and several other types of Boulevard. They have SO many wines and beers, I felt like a kid in a candy store. They also had a great selection of both affordable, mid range and pricier wines. It also helps that they have a bit of groceries: cheese, pastas, salamis. The cashier told me about their newsletter, so I signed up. I was really happy to see that their newsletter has the price of everything they're advertising, which really is helpful in terms of if it's something I can actually afford, or just another description of some fancy wine I'll never drink. I will definitely be back to get something cool. The cashier also helped me get an idea of what wine I randomly grabbed to buy. They have a nice selection in terms of variety and price range of wines that are stacked up at the front of the store - seriously, just pick one and try something new.
Wow! Sent friends to Starrs on Saturday. They were knocked out by the mega selection. They called it the 'Granddaddy of St. Louis wine stores'. Couldn't believe they had never been there before.
Bud's barbecue is respectable, and sometimes downright delightful, standing up to the town's most famous names.
Amazing selection of wine and cheese... also the coffee is great. One of the workers opened my mind to specialty meats and olives... I really had no clue those existed. Amazing store... interesting.
